Who was Tiana?
Wife. Mother. Sister. Colleague. Believer. Librarian. Texas A&M class of ‘90. 2019 Texas A&M Fish Camp namesake (Camp Okonkwo). Avid reader. Enthusiastic learner. Advocate for diversity and inclusion. Fighter. Friend to all. Truly and deeply missed.
Tiana Jo Faultry-Okonkwo, a cherished mother, wife, colleague, friend, and longtime librarian at Texas A&M University, returned to her Lord and Savior on February 3, 2026, at the age of 58. Tiana served the Texas A&M University libraries for over 30 years-- where her extensive and far-reaching work touched generations of students, faculty, and staff.
Throughout her TAMU career, Tiana was committed to expanding access to learning by helping to create programs and environments that fostered belonging and engagement. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her commitment to her family, friends, and Christian faith. She leaves behind her husband and 2 daughters.
Tiana will be remembered not only for her professional impact, but for the warmth she brought to those around her.
